Police hunted for the gunman and said he may have fled to the building across the street. Police spokesman John Quigley said there were "multiple" shooting victims, but he could not say how many. Grady Memorial Hospital said it was treating four victims in critical condition with gunshot wounds. The gunfire was reported about 3 p.m. in Two Security Center, which houses a travel agency, a brokerage and other offices. It is in Atlanta's wealthy Buckhead section. Scott Belazi, who works on the third floor of the building, said police told him a man walked into the building's leasing office on that floor and shot someone. "They got us out of there," he said. "We saw a bunch of blood in the leasing office." Dozens of police officers swarmed the building, apparently in an attempt to find the gunman. Quigley said the gunman may have fled to another office building. A woman interviewed by WSB radio said she saw at least seven stretchers come out. "There's only been one person that appeared to be seriously injured and they were doing CPR on them," said the witness, identified only as Beth. "There are now, that I can count, six ambulances in the area, right in that parking lot. SWAT team is still circling." Office workers were asked to stay inside Two Security Center, but some were later escorted outside in small groups. Lauren Coinard, who was locked inside her office with three other women, told WSB-TV that police called to tell them to keep their doors locked.
