Washington, Jan 14th
In a move widely seen as calculated to benefit supporters and associates in the energy industry, President Bush today announced his intention to sign an executive order authorising a unilateral across-the-board increase of one degree Celcius in the international boiling point of water.
The strongest protests have come from Switzerland, whose high standard
of living has often been attributed to its lofty altitude and the
consequent tepidity of its coffee, and from Israel, where the anticipated
increase in revenues for oil-producing nations has prompted Mossad to approve
an undisclosed adjustment in the consistency of export pretzels.
