The Pasteur Institute and the Nobel
Institute oppose fluoridation. They have caused fluoride to be
banned in their countries, France and Sweden, respectively
JAMA (Journal of
American Medical Association) links hip fractures and
fluoridation Reports published in 1990, 1992 and 1992 stated
that there was a link between hip fractures in the elderly and water
fluoridated at 1 ppm. (the so-called "optimal dose").
JADA (Journal of the American
Dental Association) admits the often
stated "optimal" intake level of 1 ppm (part per million) has yet to be
determined scientifically.
AMA (American Medical
Association) refuses to say that fluoridation is harmless
and "has not carried out any research work, either long term or short
term, regarding the possibility of any side effects." - Assistant

toothpase state, "In 1980, 41 fluoridation referenda were held in the

International Acadamey of Oral
Medicine and Toxicology - has classified fluoride as un
unapproved dental medicament due to its high toxicity.
EPA Scientists Take Stand Against
Fluoridation July 1997. The EPA scientists, engineers
and attorneys who assess the scientific data for Safe Drinking Water Act
standards and other EPA regulations have gone on record against the
practice of adding fluoride to public drinking water.
FDA - considers
fluoride an unapproved drug for which there is no proof of safety or
effectiveness.
Former NIH (National Inst. of
Health) scientist opposed to fluoride Dr. Patrick, Harvard
Ph.D., states Fluoride is capable of a very wide variety of harmful
effects, even at low doses.
Significant increase in bone
cancer A 1992 N.J. Dept. of Health study indicated a significant
increase in osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in young men who drank fluoridated
water.
Three year old child dies due to
fluoride treatment. $750,000 was awarded a family in New York
for the fluoride-related death.
"A significant increase in cancer
mortality in the fluoridated cities." a 28 year study
concludes A time-trend study of Dr. Burk and Dr. Yiamouyiannis,
which compared cancer mortality in ten cities which fluoridated their
water systems with ten cities which did not fluoridate.
Houston sued over fluoridation - and
loses based on scientific data Court rules "That the artificial
fluoridation of public water supplies, such as is contemplated by
[Houston] City Ordinance No. 80-2530, may cause or may contribute to the
cause of cancer, genetic damage, intolerant reactions, and chronic
toxicity, including dental mottling, in man; that the said artificial
fluoridation may aggravate malnutrition and existing illnesses in man; and
that the value of said artificial fluoridation is in doubt as to the
reduction of tooth decay in man."

City warns residents about
Fluoridated water Natick Mass. - March 1998 When people open
their next town water bills, they will notice a warning about
fluoridation. The town recommends pregnant women, parents of children
under 3, and people sensitive to fluoride consult their doctors.
ADA (American Dental Association) study
suggests too much Toothpaste Causes Fluorosis. A study published
in the December Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA) shows
that children who use too much toothpaste are at a significant risk for
dental Fluorosis.
Judge reinstates EPA scientist who
recommends ELIMINATING FLUORIDE from water supplies. Secretary
of Labor Robert Reich has ordered the reinstatement of Dr. William Marcus,
a Senior Toxicologist with the EPA, who was fired by the Environmental
Protection Agency after he opposed the use of fluoride in drinking
water.
Mr. Reich ratified a Dec. 3, 1992, ruling by Judge David Clarke that
the EPA “retaliated” against Dr. Marcus by firing him in May 1992 for his
scientific reports which recommended removing fluoride from drinking
water. Fluoride, Dr. Marcus said in an interview Friday, is “a poison”
found to cause liver cancer and other health problems. It also causes lead
to leach from plumbing into water supplies, he said.
EPA and Surgeon General accused of
falsifying data on fluoride. In 1991, the National Federation of
Federal Employees representing the scientists lawyers and engineers at EPA
Headquarters charged the EPA and Surgeon General's office with falsifying
information relating to the risks of fluoride and unequivocally renounced
the use of fluoride as a safe practice.
Santa Cruz rejects
Fluoridation The Santa
Cruz citizens voted to ban fluoridation on March 2, 1999.
Floridation loses when it is put to a
public vote. As stated by the ADA (American Dental
Association)
Crest Toothpaste states sociopolitical
aspects of water fluoridation must be considered. Crest
Toothpaste (Procter & Gamble) states "the reasons of fluoridation is
rejection by communities is due to: failure to effectively educate the
public on the scientific and sociopolitical aspects of water fluoridation,
& failure of health professionals to treat the situation as a
"political" campaign. " |
