In 1989, retired Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Marvin wrote the book, Expendable Elite â One Soldierâs Journey Into Covert Warfare, and searched for 13 years to locate a publisher with guts enough to publish it. After rejections from 120 publishers, the author was approached by Robert A. (Kris) Millegan of TrineDay Press, having been encouraged by Jim Marrs to publish Marvin's book, and it was finally published in May of 2003. Since the publication of Expendable Elite the Special Forces Association has tried to convince its 6000+ members â LTC Marvin's fellow Green Berets â that this well-documented book was nothing but "pure fantasy." Furthermore, the SFA has published a series of threats to sue Millegan, Marvin and Robert Logan (TV and movie rights owner), and it has used every means at its disposal to discredit to their work.
On June 4, 2004, at the instigation of the Special Forces Association, seven former Special Forces personnel filed a libel lawsuit in Federal Court against author Daniel Marvin and his publisher (more on the lawsuit here). The goal of the Special Forces Association is, apparently, to bankrupt Daniel Marvin, destroy TrineDay publishers, and kill the story told in Expendable Elite.
LTC Marvin has gone over $60,000 into debt to get this book published and to help those he writes about: the South Vietnamese who served valiantly, and upon whom this country has turned its back. Kris Millegan, as CEO of TrineDay, has dedicated his publishing efforts to those nonfiction books that shed light on the dark forces that pervade our government. Anyone who has looked seriously into these matters will understand that the author and the publisher have both taken great personal and financial risk to bring this information to you.
Now is the time for everyone who cares for the survival of a Free Press in America to kick in a few bucks!
