The former resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue got roars of approval Wednesday when she spoke to 3,000 plumbers and pipe fitters at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Although she said not a word about her political future, one thing glittered clearly: star power. The former first lady turned New York senator has got it. After her 15-minute speech, hundreds of admirers created a moving scrum around her as she and 10 or so bodyguards moved toward the exit. Though most of the 3,000 delegates were male, the crowd around Hillary was disproportionately female. `I AGREE' ``I agree with everything she says,'' said Valerie Cantwell, who shook the senator's hand. ``She's such a powerful speaker.'' In her address to the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, Clinton accused the Bush administration of abandoning fiscal responsibility, abandoning a prescription drug plan, abandoning a plan to protect Social Security and Medicare. <A HREF="http://www.ctrl.org/";>www.ctrl.org</A> DECLARATION & DISCLAIMER ========== CTRL is a discussion & informational exchange list.
