In Seattle, Tuesday, I interviewed Remi Parmentier, Greenpeace International [credentialed] delegate to the WTO ministerial. He said that the protesters' blockade prevented the beginning session until at least 12:30pm. At that time 2 protesters made it to the idle microphone inside the main meeting room and asked to address the few delegates who were there. they were descended upon by police and dragged off. Parmentier rose and said "Freedom of Speech." This brought the police [secret service? private security?] down on him. His credentials were ripped from him and he was bodily tossed from the Conference Center and told not to return. So much for incorporating environmental concerns into the WTO's deliberations. Parmentier's interview and other video from Seattle will be part of a Portland Cable Access program on 12/9 @8:30pm. I don't know which access channel yet.
