When Reno uses the Child Abuse excuse destruction follows. --------------------- Waco Child Abuse Excuse Redux Jack Thompson April 18, 2000 11:20 AM Here we go again. Monday evening the Reno Justice Department trotted out an INS pediatric psychologist, Dr. Irwin Redlener, who maintains that he can tell by observing Elian from afar that the boy is being "psychologically abused" by his Miami relatives and that the boy must be rescued from the Miami relatives to end the abuse. This is useful to Reno who used a later-disproven allegation of child abuse as the basis to storm the Branch Davidian compound in Waco. Reno herself admitted at congressional oversight hearings that she had no proof of such abuse nor did she at the time of the incursion. The absurdity of this ploy is that the Miami relatives have begged Reno for months to have her team of psychologists examine the boy to determine if anyone has abused the boy. Either the father, when we was around the boy, or, possibly, the Miami relatives, while he has been in their care. Reno refuses to do that, because she is afraid, clearly, of what she may find. Yet she pioneered the technique, in the 1980s here in Miami, as reported days ago at NewsMax.com, of using child psychologists to examine abused children. ABC television made a movie about it called Unspeakable Acts. Reno was the hero of the show, using the husband and wife child psychologists, the Drs. Braga, to determine there was abuse. This reporter has shared all this at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with Ramon Saul Sanchez, who plans to communicate to the media the family's urgent plea again that the boy be examined to determine who has abused whom. Waco revisited, right down to the child abuse allegations coming out of the Justice Department.
