In the meantime I was able to successfully connect a Windows VM to the
Samba domain. The domain login works and also the access to the Sysvol.
Wonderful!
Now I try to make the domain accounts known on the Samba host - the
NetBSD system. I have adjusted the

Hello Christos and Patrick,
Thank you very much for your quick help. It works with the POSIX.1E ACLs
and I now seem to have a domain controller running on NetBSD. What a
great day :-) I will now install a Windows as a Xen guest and try to
join the domain.

A while ago, Christos Zoulas imported the ACL code for FFS. This opens
the door for using NetBSD with Samba as a domain controller in a
heterogeneous environment with Windows clients. I'm honest: that's one
