In response to the post regarding Miss Widdicombe's proposal regarding
self-defence, subscribers might be interested in the Home Invasion Act 1998,
in NSW Australia. It was introduced and passed as a private members bill by
the Shooters Party

AAA was bought out by the Australian Government as it
was regarded as an embarrassment. The problem was that
it made black semi-automatic rifles and carbines. Had
they used walnut stocks and produced bolt-actions it might
not have occurred.
