This is from the Manifesto Commitments page of the 10
Downing Street Site:

74. Free vote on handgun ban 

"In the wake of Dunblane and Hungerford, it is clear
that only the strictest firearms laws can provide maximum
safety. There will be legislation to allow 
individual MPs a free vote for a complete ban on handguns." 

Parliament voted to ban all handguns. All such weapons should have been 
handed in by 1 March 1998.

Well, they failed on that one judging by the number of shootings I've seen 
reported recently.  Shall we write to our beloved (b)leader and inform him of 
this fact?  He doesn't seem to know.
