Is there a vertically-oriented version of xmessage

I want to create shell script that puts up a toolbar
down the side of my screen with customizable text
buttons. I know I could do this in Tk but the learning

Why should that be curious? As Chris pointed out it has to be set
before cygwin1.dll initializes. If

several people have responded that the CYGWIN environment variable
should be set in the cygwin.bat file, but for whatever reason, I put

Hey, I personally use vi(m). But I do know people who'd like to boot up

Paul,
All Cygwin-related queries should go to the Cygwin mailing list. Not only
will it give you access to more expertise than any one person can provide,
it also puts your question and any answers to it in the archives which, as
you discovered already, can be used by others with similar problems

To follow up on using rxvt:
I have changed by cygwin.bat to have
rxvt -e tcsh -l
as the final line. (Yes I (currently) like some of the old tcsh
properties over bash (though I've used both over time)) (But
doesn't everyone just work in emacs anyway?)

Jim,
Please make sure your mailer respects the Reply-To: header.
Also, if advice given by someone on the Cygwin list helped you, it's
usually a good idea to post a followup to the list stating this, just to
bring things to a closure, so that others searching the archives will see
what worked and w

Control spacebar doesn't work in the standard cygwin terminal. This
is a problem for those of us who love emacs...

I am trying to build an application that uses X11R6.4 libraries and
includes, however, these are now distributed with the current
cygwin. Previous versions (B20) do not seem to work properly. Where do I
get the most recent X11 distribution with all of the necessary includes and
libs?

CMake 1.8.3-1 is now available on Cygwin mirrors.
There has been a new release of the official cmake (1.8.3).
This is a minor release from 1.8.2 to 1.8.3.

The packaged CLISP is built using libsigsegv. However, that library is
not packaged with it, so it's not possible to do custom links of CLISP,
which some CLISP-based applications need to do!
(That is to say, some programs add their own C functions to CLISP by
adding them to the set of pieces from

Hello,
I want to realize SSH-Keyauthentification with Windows 2003 and cygwin

Although I can get dead-keys working on rxvt/bash, I can't use them in
GNU Emacs at the same environment.
Can you please help me with this irritant problem? I had already
searched mailing lists and websites for this problem, but no solution
seems to work in here.
Thanks in advance,
