I like to have one icon in Windows that I can click on to open a new
xterm window:
- if the X server is not running, the icon would start X and launch
a xterm window
- if the X server is running, it will simply open a new xterm
window on the existing X server

I had a problem similar to George Barrick.
cygcheck octave-3.2.4.exe
revealed
cygcheck: track_down: could not find cygGLU-1.dll
This was fixed by installing libGLU1 using setup.exe.
It appears this is a new dependency, not enforced by setup.exe.
Was it intended?
