Just updated my bison recently (bison-2.1-1) and now the generated y.tab.c
file has an extra semicolon in it that causes the compiler to choke:
#ifdef YYPARSE_PARAM
# if defined (__STDC__) || defined (__cplusplus)
int yyparse (void *YYPARSE_PARAM)

I'm seeing some really weird behavior with cygpath in cygwin 1.7 on Vista
Home Premium. For instance, if I'm in my home directory and there's an
image.png file in it:
$ ls -l image.png
-rwxrwxrwx 1 gregc None 6211 Apr 5 16:00 image.png
$ cygpath -u image.png

Thank you Corinna for looking into this.
So I tried rebuilding cygwin1.dll in 1.7 with gcc-4 from the
instructions in http://cygwin.com/cvs.html and
http://cygwin.com/faq/faq.programming.html#faq.programming.building-cygwin,
and while the make didn't finish (perl hung -- "... fatal error -

I'm actually hoping to skip 3.4.4-2 and get gcc 3.4.6 or 4.1.1. When I
compile my application with 3.4.4, I'm getting an "internal compiler
error" that I don't get with 3.4.6 on Linux.
Any news about a newer version of gcc for cygwin?

No I hadn't and it fixes my problem!

FAQ:
FYI, I just upgraded cygwin on my Windows XP system from 1.7.18 to 1.7.27
and ssh no longer works. Runing under gdb gives:
$ gdb /bin/ssh.exe
(gdb) run
gdb: unknown target exception 0xc139 at 0x7c9673be
During startup program exited with code 0xc139.

So recompiling opensll and openssh didn't fix the problem, but switching
to a cygwin1.dll snapshot that I downloaded debugging an earlier problem
from Nov 29, 2013 did fix the problem. "cygcheck -s -v -r" for the
working cygwin1.dll gives:
3043k 2013/11/29 C:\cygwin\bin\cygwin1.dll - os=4.0
