the script fails to change directory.
Just to make sure, put the following on the line after #!/bin/bash
set -x
and then before and after the line with the cd command:
pwd
Are you sure it's not changing directory, or could something else be going wrong?

are destroyed. In this case the pointer
would be destroyed, but the memory it points to should not be deleted or anything.
Usually throwing a pointer is not what you really want to do, but it shouldn't
cause a crash.

I couldn't say whether the cygwin developers could be held liable by microsoft
for not enforcing the desktop client limit.
