A (maybe stupid) idea: Could this perhaps be a CRLF problem? That is,
that dx expects CRLF as a
"script mode"
(which should result in a command line interface if no filename is
provided).
Using the Windows cmd shell, it works as expected and stops at its
prompt ("dx>"):
