I dont see other solutions than to link with a native XClient lib ,
there are some beside cygwin... (check for lestif maybe)
Else you'd have to recompile the whole (or most) cygwin base packages
nativly ( -mwindows) but I fear this is impossible.

How comes is it impossible to write a STATIC lib using msvc's .LIB
format ? while .DLL are possible ?
Or at least to transcribe from gcc's .a format ?
