to try switching from DOS to UNIX end-of-lines, and
reinstalling all the xorg-x11-* packages, and voila, startx worked.

it shows bash-2.05b$ when i double click on cygwin.
in general, it should show something like this
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
in the 1st case, i cannot use ls.exe command while it lies under the folder
C:\cygwin\bin
how to make the cygwin work properly?

today i installed cygwin (including apache),
but i meet some problem when i try to start apache,

/usr/sbin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started
then i try

it quit without any message.
when i check /var/log/apache.log, it is

Han-Wen built latest Guile CVS also using libtool 1.5.6 on Cygwin,
which doesn't have this .rdata change?

Yes, that's right. Guile now starts fine, but dlopen-ing of a shared
module does not work
work, so libtool is incorrectly translating the commandline.
I take that I don't need to run GCC with -Wl,verbose ?

the emacs in console mode seem not work properly in the latest cygwin, i
