Install still fails on win7 (and no tips after 2.5 months?)

Why does cygwin not install properly on windows 7 (32 bit)? i've googled it and all I've found is a scatterring of similar issues and no suggestions. Why isn't there a FAQ? I have the same error messages as David Means (23 Sep 2010), and I've tried to install cygwin with all the version compatib

After getting the fatal "cyggcc_s-1.dll is missing" error and finding the thread below, I started digging into the Cygwin installation on my Windows 7 Enterprise box. I resolved to try again and did an uninstall and then tried to clean up the c:\cygwin directory, but one of the subdirectories wou
