I've noticed the newer versions of ruby (1.8.6-p114-2 through 1.8.7-p72-1) installed by cygwin are missing the iconv.so file that is normally located in /lib/ruby/1.8/i386-cygwin. My older (1.8.5-2) version had it, so I wonder why the change was made. The ruby iconv library is part of the ruby
