Well, if you have write permission, and no error log, you'd need a
local TeXpert to look into the problem.

Sorry. It still doesn't work. I have ran updmap by
hand, somehow get it runs successfully. But it does
not create the directory "/var/lib/texmf".
What else can I do?
I think I have to switch back to the earlier version
of tetex such that I can get my work done for now.

Check the permissions, run the postinstall script again and look for
errors. The map file should be created near the end, by updmap. If

It works for me. You may try these commands
cygcheck -c | grep tetex
echo .$TEXMF.
kpsewhich pdftex.map
grep ptmb8r $(kpsewhich pdftex.map)
kpsewhich utmb8a.pfb
Expected results
Hi. I tried running post-texmf.sh.done again, but it
does not solve the problem...
The attached files are tex source files that I use to
reproduce the problem.

Recently, I upgrade tetex to version 3.0.0-2 with an
upgrade of Cygwin. After the upgrade, I could not
