I would like to contribute the (Debian) Linux version of hostname(1) and would suggest to remove the GNU hostname command from coreutils package. This version of hostname allows to show the FQDN (-f), DNS domain name (-d, dnsdomainname), alias names (-a, -A) or network addresses (-i, -I). Work
