Oh good to know, so I don't need to boot up the machine that still has
the 32bit installation for testing.

Been there, done that…

Currently there isn't any progress indicator either to the number of
pending files or extraction in a package.  I have that on my list of
things to check and maybe correct for quite some time,m but obviously
not anywhere near a point where I'd get a round tuit.

There are two local int variables in the file reader function that
likely should be off_t for i686, to test if that's true you'd need an
archive with a file larger than 2GiB that is an exact multiple of 64kiB
in size…
