Hi,
There is a problem when using xwinclip with an X server which connects to a

Hi Shane,
Cygwin/Xfree and XDMCP work correctly. I only get a problem when running a
local X client at the same time as a remote X client (via XDMCP). It turns
out a /etc/X0.hosts file containing a 'localhost' entry is needed. Also

Why does this symbol need to be exported? I need some description to put in
the patch submission if I'm going to send this on to XFree86.

Hello Herold,
I have no idea how to solve the problem with the xwinclip, but I use
xwinclip with XDMCP since it is available. I´m running on different
machines, and a delay of 10 seconds is too short for some machines!
I´m using a sleep 15 directly after starting XWin in XDMCP. The slowest
Hi Harold,
Thanks for your enlightening note. I've placed a 30 second delay in my code
which kludges around the problem. I like your suggestion of retrying
xwinclip every, say 4 seconds, until it connects.
I'm still puzzled by the security issues. Does XDMCP cause the localhost to

I've got some errors from people who were compiling the kdelibs 2.1.1 from the

_IceLastMajorOpcode symbol should be added to libICE-def.cpp file. I
missed it originally. It is exported in libICE.so at Linux and other UNIX
platforms. You can do an nm on libICE on a UNIX box.

Jeremiah,
I did notice a recurring typo, though: in sections 9.4-9.6, you
have whom
where you should have who.
The word 'whom' is not a typo. The usage of 'whom' is one of the finer
points of the English language. I can assure you that I used it correctly,
as an interrogative. The
