Well, on the local xterm, I didn't ssh, su, login or whatever. It's just
a local terminal.
However, typing 'resize' indeed solves the problem. Thanks for the help!

from my system -- without no warning or prompting.
I now see that the Xwin files are all identified as Removed package on
the cygwin website. Where do I go from here?
