Billy provided the (pointer to the) solution. Which was working for me to fix coincident problems. Greg and misc had the same problem. I'm again seeing quick edit in cmd not work well, took the battery out, still not working, maybe I really need to put it back? - Jay __

Microsoft's latest high priority update for .NET 3.5 SP1 for XP has broken the -clipboard option to XWin. I have seen the following behavior on 2 PCs so far using cygwin 1.5: before the MS update all works fine after the update, any paste function in vim, or xterm, or wherever causes an imme
