Hey cygwin folks,
I've been using xlaunch with a windows desktop shortcut for
about a year to start a multi-window instance of xwin on my Win7
computers. This is cygwin32 on an installation of Win7_x86-64.

Hey cygwin-x folks,
I have not had notable difficulties with

Hi Marco,
I went and re-installed my antivirus so that its
files would be stored in a better directory. That has

Hi Marco (and cygwin-x folks),
I will try the experiment that I think
you are suggesting. If the .so is part of an
older .dll, then a reinstallation of the
packages should clear up the problem. I

cygwin-x folks,
I mis-typed at the end of my message.
I should say something like: "hope that
XFIG developers can reproduce and find the
problem".
I would not want to burden the xorg-guys

I hope that this report contains enough detail

My interest in gnuplot is as a plotting

Hi Jim and cygwin-xfree folks,
I had the same problem that Jim was
experiencing. I had started with cygwin-1.7
back in August, and over the course of the
autumn months had my difficulties with

did to make star
startup and the xterm invocation
in the startxwin.bat file.
This worked for me.

Hi Jim,
I've been having the same difficulty. I start
Xwin via the startxwin.bat script, my xterm is then
spawned, but crashes taking Xwin with it.
I thought that I had solved the problem last week
when I read on the regular cygwin
