I believe the use of '-X' has been depreciated. Try using '-Y' instead.

I use this setup, the relevant parts of my startxwin.bat;
REM run XWin -multiwindow -clipboard -silent-dup-error
run XWin
REM run twm
run openbox
run xsetroot -solid aquamarine4
then Openbox is a separate window, that can me maximized/minimized as needed.
It's easy to open multiple instances of

gwin1.dll till I put it into the same directory as
XWin.exe. Now it does nothing at all, not even a log output.
Any help would be appreciated.

Using this;
start /B XWin
run openbox
run xsetroot -solid aquamarine4
allows it to start with the 'startxwin
