I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300 and it works quite happily on
mine. I run at 1024x768 using the default window manager (no KDE or
any such just yet), and have encountered no trouble.

Sure... XFree/Cygwin uses the MS Windows GDI to do it's display, so there is no
worry about the hardware.
