I think one of the major obstacles is to get the mainline cygwin maintainers to "approve" the /opt directory tree. There has been some discussion of this in the past, but it always ends in not wanting it because they say so. One might say why not /usr/X11R6/{qt2|qt3|kde2|kde3}? To that I say b
