1 JANUARY 03: WOOMERA
People at Woomera handcuffed, taken to mess, teargassed.
Handcuffed and sitting in basketball court from 10 am - 9 pm past 2 days.
Men are strip searched. Seven detainees taken to Port Augusta Magistrates
Court, the 7 political prisoners have not been charged yet. A police
officer said that "because they are detainees we can keep them in the
police station lock-up for longer than 24 hours without having charged them".
