Italy: Anti-Capitalist Activists Released

The news has just come through that a court of review in Catanzaro has ordered the release of all 18 activists connected with the investigation of the Cosenza prosecutor into the confrontation with police during demonstrations against the OCSE in Naples 2001.
This includes Francesco Caruso, one of the leaders of the 'disobeddients'.
Elsewhere a trial opened today in the Veneto against 33 other activists connected to the Disobeddienti, including Luca Casarini. They are not charged with the type of thought crimes that characterise the Cosenza investigation. the prosecution relateds to conflictual demonstrations that took place during Haider's visit to Jesuolo and Venice, and the defence of the social centre 'Rivolta'. The events took place in 2000.
None of them are being held in detention during the trial.
