Giant Rally From Belmore Park (Central Station) to the Domain This Sunday
The Walk Against The War Coalition is organising another rally for this
weekend, Sunday March 24th. The alternative and radical media is gearing up
for widely covered participatory grass roots coverage. 2SER-FM 107.3FM,
Sydney's local community run radio station, is preparing to provide live
coverage from midday to 3pm for this weekend's anti-war rally. Participants
are being urged to bring portable radios to make sure they hear all the
action. Local Indymedia activists will be on the streets again taking
photos and making reports to the newswire. You can publish your story
directly too --- it's all open and accessible.
The Walk Against the War Coalition is asking that people:
Assemble 12:30pm Belmore Park (next to Central Station).
March via Elizabeth St to the Domain for speakers.
Come early as trains will be crowded.
Bring water and sunscreen.
Use St James, Museum or Wynyard Stations as Town Hall may be closed if
overcrowded.
The expanding coporate and military assault from the US is quietly being
conducted closer to home, this time in negotiations with Mark Vaile,
Federal Trade Minister, over a "free" trade deal. You can join Global
Justice Sydney for a protest action against those who make a killing out of
free trade. Get down to DFAT, Angel Place, 123 Pitt St, City (50m from
Martin Place) at 4pm Thursday March 20th, then its off to UTS for the
second Axis of Hope with Jacqui Katona, Anuradha Mittal and Helena
norberg-Hodge.
