I've posted a draft pull request on the github page (see

together mock up. I'd very much appreciate any input on the design/UX side,

Please please please do that. In particular, I want to to be able to
edit the field "Lens Model", where I could insert the name of the lens
(e.g. CZJ Flektogon). I am often using old lenses and it is annoying to
open the photos in yet another program, maybe even switch to a different OS.

I am in favor of an expanded metadata editor, but I think it should be kept
within the module, as this better fits the usual metadata-editing workflow.
The unwieldiness might be countered by letting the user specify what set of
metadata keys should appear for editing.
