How is your general memory setup, i.e. amount of total RAM and how does
it compare to the system need?
If you are short on RAM programs with a high memory demand - darktable
is one of them - might drive your system into heavy swapping. That could
explain the drastic slowdown.

can you check if your vendor configuration is about reasonable? e.g.
mine looks like that
cat /etc/OpenCL/vendors/nvidia.icd
libnvidia-opencl.so.1
for an nvidia card.

With latest version the dialog is now again too large and I cannot see
the right end. Either I would use only the e-mail or add ellipsization
for the use

Re-reading this, you probably want to *replace* the name by the e-mail
otherwise the entry could get quite large and ellipsisation of the name

-roi_in->y += interpolation->width;
-roi_in->width -= 2*interpolation->width;

Hi,
I just had a closer look, and summary of it all: I like!
I have found one thing that differs from before... not sure if this
is something you care about or not, but... before your changes, the
code would adapt the aspect ratio to the original picture format. For
example, if I chose 5:4 and
