I do not have the "apply metadata on import" as an available option when I
import from my camera and as an aside I am also seeing now that I am unable
to import from an external fil

i just thought it was easy as the DMC-G7 (identical to the G70, except a
different name is used in germany

Could you please open a new Camera Support issue and attach a file? It

I've seen that the panasonic dmc-g7 was just added to camera.xml after
the 1.6.7 release.
In Germany (and other european countries) the G7 is sold under name G70
(which is also written to the exif data). G7 and G70 are identical
except for the name.
I manually added the G7 part to my loc
