Hello to all --
As Darktable matures into a viable and full-featured photo application for
Linux, I would like to gently suggest opening a conversation about changing the
name of the application. Most of us understand where the name came from - a
merge of 'darkroom' and 'light table', with the
d of darktable installed automatically, so I put the test

Hello --
I (and possibly many others who are compiling darktable from git) would be
grateful for a short tutorial on how to change from master to a branch of
interest, compile DT, and then change back again to a "good" version if
something goes wrong. I am interested in testing out the LCA rem
Please forgive the post if this is already possible and I simply don't know the
keystrokes. I would find it helpful when using drawn masks to have an option
for the feathering to begin at the border and move inward, rather than outward.
Even with a small feather zone, I have noticeable halos w
"Copying files around in your system is almost always a very bad idea. I would
advise to undo that, rm -rf build/ and start over. Cmake should be able to find
the libraries in their new location, too."
Point taken -- I deleted the OpenEXR dev .so files from /usr/lib that I had

Thanks to James and Wolfgang for the information about OpenEXR and cmake /
scan. My compile was indeed missing the .so files from the OpenEXR dev package
(libopenexr-dev 1.6.1-7 in Raring) which I had installed under Quantal.
Apparently Raring moved the files from /usr/lib to /usr/lib/x86_64-l

`src/libdarktable.so'. Stop.

Any ideas for a solution would be welcome. I've enjoyed the Git releases, and
hope to benefit from them in the future ...

What a fascinating thought. I've used Scribus extensively at work and am
familar with its capabilities, in particular the "Export to PDF" function. I
will be curious to find out if embedding a printer paper profile into the PDF
from Scribus will "hold" when printed by Evince or Adobe Reader to
I realize this is a simple question with a complicated answer, but I'll try to
be brief. I have an Espon Pro 3800 printer and an X-rite Colormunki
spectrophotometer. I would like to use these tools to produce gallery quality
prints from within a Linux environment, and I've searched the web and
