After more pointed testing, I agree with you. Present
the jpgs exported are related by filename to the xmp files and to the
original nef.
fwiw: the functionality is as "I expect" it to be.
It really appears to me that you have not properly configured the export

select the previous entry in the history list and go from there. You even
have the ability to compare before/after by selecting the pertinent

change light levels and noticed the problem again today. I removed
~/.cache/darktable/mipmaps-62d87cbcad56aa2b4a21cd680776714d70e93ef6 and
utilizing the histogram to change light levels again works.
