Just had it exported from Lightroom and it seems you might be right re:

The export is bigger in both file size (4.1MiB) and resolution (4000 x
2160) vs (2016 x 1096) although the image appears to be the same
That image was loaded from the .dng and then saved as a .png using
Gwenview's "Save As" function.

Gimp (ver: 2.8.10) also fails to load it with the error message
"Unsupported layout, no RGBA header" but Gwenview (ver: 4.13.1) displays
