Yes, known issue: http://www.darktable.org/redmine/issues/10413
Happens only for CPU export with HQ enabled and resizing to 1280 x 1280
limit.
So changing one of those should fix it for now...
PS: what are "max size" values you are using which causes this?

Hello
Current dt from git master produces corrupt images if they have vertical
orientation and no transformation is applied. Camera is Sony A99. Here
