Hi,
As of today (with darktable2.6.1) it seems Darktable is not able to read my
Nikon-camera-profiles.
I notice that they all give the same output as the 'linear Rec709 RGB'-profile.
To check if it is a folder-problem I have placed a random profile in the same
folder, but that one works fine.

Hello;
I find the idea of having a mouse over text file show up over a photo a
great idea as I can use it to remind myself of things yet to do to the
image. BUT...though it seems to set up the LUA options in the darktable
preferences I can't figure out how to make it actually create a text file

Of course, but maybe it is good enough for Mark. There are many ways to get
a monochrome image but I suspect most user just go for the simplest one.
And he can extend this to the other modules he may have used to convert the
image, manually removing tags from the false positives if necessary. Or

Problem is Lorenzo, the monochrome module isn't the only way to create
monochrome images in darktable (as I recently discovered when I produced my
video on that particular topic). :)

I do not know if there is a better trick but if you do not mind playing
with shell scripts you can use find + xmlstarlet to find xmp files with the
monochrome module enabled and add the corresponding tag to it.

Is there a way to automatically find all monochrome images?
Currently, I have to tag them manually, which is a tedious and
error-prone process.

Now I think it has to do with the combination Filmic and Exposure.
I modified Exposure, than turned on Filmic preset EV 10, then went back
to the Exposure module. Changing the Exposure + or - makes the images
suddenly jump to a much darker state. Use the mouse wheel and try it.

Yes ofcourse, but perhaps I'm not being clear enough.
The darkening only sometimes happens and in each case with the module ON.
So:
- i have an image that looks nice but i want to see how it looks with filmic
- i turn the module *on* and choose preset 10 EV which gives me the same
image but wi

I notice that it only happens after applying Exposure after Filmic and
the clicking Filmic again (on/off/on)

No I don't expect magic :), but I chose the preset 10EV (Indoor). Then
turning Filmic off to show what the image looks like without Filmic,
than on again to see what is was with the module activated. That made
the image darken suddenly, not at all how it looked before.

Doing this, the images become too dark suddenly (bottom half of the
screenshot), then the next time I turn it on it's normal again (top half
of the image) etc. I can do this multiple times and it will

I think the best way today is to use neural networks:

Hi!
Gotta question : do you know any possible way to colorize monochrome
pictures?
I have old grandmas pics made by analog and i want to make scans and
then colorize them.
Maybe by color lookup table? Color zones? Maybe you all know better way
to do that.
Thanks in advance and once ag
