The action you have described here still seems like a 'manual'
operation. Are you saying that ALL images in a folder are processed
according to the preset, but I just can't see the results - until I
enter the darkroom? This makes me feel quite uncomfortable because I
start to ask 'are all

Darktable will apply the preset just fine: if you open it, you'll see
it's there. If you try to export it without ever opening the image in
the darkroom, your preset

I need to apologize on this one. It's the viewing angle that creates the
difference. I have put the 2 windows under each other and there is no
difference if all color profiles are aligned.
Lesson learned for me is to check better.

The color profiles are the same (sRGB) but the color/tone of the image is
different (not much: the darkroom image is a little brighter). I now also
exported the image using the same profile. The color/tone is like the one of
the preview window.
