that’s a screenshot of a fresh installation. changing the font size and even
the font itself in darktable.css had no effect on the text. using the text of
the linked file also had no effect.

maybe the text-size is defined in CSS - like a website.
Look at file (in Ubuntu):
/usr/share/darktable/darktable.css
