I successfully used a spyder4elite bin Ubuntu 13.04 recently.
Works really well with Argyll and dispcal frontend.
Took an hour and 24 minutes for my laptop monitor and another 2 hours for
my external LED monitor.
Cheers

I am happy using the datacolor spyder 4 pro under ubuntu. You can use it
via a shell-script or install the gnome-color-manager via apt-get. The
latter starts color-management when you plug-in the spyder and is well
integrated in unity. Select your desired color-temperature and follow
instructions.
Thanks Rob,
I could not find the appropriate section in the manual. The option I was
looking for is hidden if you don't use littlecms but the internal routines.
Best,
Gert

As I understand it, Gert wants to preview the effects of the different
display intents within darktable. Don't know if that is feasible.

Hi Gert,
I haven't dt in front of me now but I think the 'Output Colour Profile' module
lets you set the display intent as well as that for export, with perceptual
being the default.
Rgds,
Rob.
