Hi!
I didn't know that I can set the database location in darktablerc, I
used a link from the default place to my image directory, there I store
the database. Then I backup and sync the images with my second computer
the database are synced to.

The mix value is used to scale the control points. If you store a preset
(or adjust the control points after applying "mix"), the new position of
the control points is remembered. The mix slider itself is just some
handy tool for quick adjustments but does not persist.
=> Only look at the control
I tend to use the "Clarity (subtle)" preset and then drop the mix down
with the slider to 0.500. However when I try and create a new preset
with this mix value it doesn't store the mix value and defaults back to
1.000.
Cheers

OK, that explains some strange things sometimes going on here...
As it is really convenient to just share the XMP between the computers
(the pictures are stored on an external drive which I just have to plug
in the right machine) there maybe should be an option to make DT
prioritize the setting

Currently I'm only syncing the sidecar files and not the database. Now I
wonder what is stored in the database and what problems I could face if
I don't sync the DB as well? Or is all important information in the xml
