I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I just can't find it. Why
is it that given the same shot, darktable/digiKam (showfoto) and
UFRaw/RawTherapee display different values for temperature and tint?
Process:
1. open grey card (WhiBal) shot in darktable and ufraw.
2. read spot white balan

concerning the instructions to compile and install dt from source, I see
one general issue: The famous "make" -> "make install" procedure may be
nice and easy for installing programs, but it is a nightmare for your
distro's package manager, because he cannot keep track of the files you
saved/m

I think compiling Darktable is pretty straightforward. Did you follow these
instructions? http://www.darktable.org/install/ It would be nice to know
what is difficult in compiling Darktable so that the documentation could be
improved.
