THAT person (who now resides in Russia) recommends SpiderOak for security

A bit off-topic (not hardware), but since backups came up, I thought
I'd mention dirvish. It's an rsync-based tool, can be used locally or
remotely, and it can create a history of your file system - one backup
directory per day. The trick is that is hardlinks unchanged files from
one day to another
