My Pentax K-30 has no option to switch to PEF, only DNG is supported :)
For the K-3 this is not true, it supports both formats.

Sorry didn't know, but this change nothing as in this case you don't
need to convert to DNG.
And Pentax is far from Nikon and Canon.
