In darkroom view, working on a vertical format image and clicking the film
strip to hide it, show the image as square with empty space above and below.
Not sure if this has been reported nor if there is a workaround.

Fixed it, i'm sorry i didn't know i had to restart darktable to apply setup
changes, i had tried
increasing the drawing area but did not restart darktable, once i did
restart it is working fine.
