It should work if you use the collection module to narrow down the current
collection to one picture and then enter map mode.

I finally got the an online map to work in the Map panel. However, I
took a lot of pictures in a small area, so almost all of the images are
stacked and it is difficult for me to see where an image is located.
I tried setting the global gui setting "maximum number of images drawn
on map" to 1,
