SENIOR DBA Duration - 5 month contract Chicago,IL *Required Skills* Must have strong background in oracle database administration, systems integration, database design, application SQL and database tuning, space management, database monitoring, and expert RMAN backup and recovery experience required Self-motivated and be able to grasp functional concept quickly is a must Must have extensive experience in daily performance monitoring, space management, index rebuilds, stat collections and other Oracle housekeeping tasks. Must have in-depth knowledge of Oracle 10g or 11g Effective verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, high level of initiative, and team player with the ability of multitasking is a big plus. Candidates must have at least 5+ years experienced as Oracle DBA supporting enterprise scale databases. Prefer 3+ years experience supporting Oracle databases hosting PeopleSoft ERP applications. Prefer experience with large projects deploying oracle databases and meeting aggressive deadlines. Prefer experience supporting Oracle in a clustered windows environment. Prefer experience with Oracle grid control, diagnostic and tuning packs. Off hour and weekend is expected This person will be working as a Senior DBA on the I9 PeopleSoft upgrade project. There will be other internal and external dba resources on the team. This person will be the only one 100% dedicated to I9 DBA tasks. Design, administer, install and monitor complex and/or critical software, databases, and database applications. Evaluation and selection of DBMS hardware and related software. Understand business requirements to create, revise, and maintain logical data models. Provide on-going physical database and database environment support. Reports to Leader. Individual will install, administer, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and tune multiple databases running on oracle. Administer databases through full application life cycle, development, testing, and production. Perform database logical and physical design. Provide requirement definitions for backup/recovery procedures.
